I followed these steps but all the vowels with diacritics gone, say like “Ting vit” in pdf file.
    I am using Ubuntu 11.04 and 10.04.
Do you have any idea to fix it? Thanks.

This could be the editor problem. Make sure that your latex editor support unicode (such as texworks or texmaker).

Hi Chan, thanks for posting this. This is great.

My problem is when I begin to use this, it changes “Bibliography” to “Tài Liệu” which I don’t want, since the entire document needs to be in English, except for some author names in Vietnamese. Would you tell how i can configure this? Thanks.

I’ve checked that we do not need to use the package babel. So, just remove “\usepackage[vietnam]{babel}” (i updated the post), you’ll get back ‘Bibliography’.

In additional, if you want to change the ‘Bibliography’ to ‘Tài liệu’, you just need to add a command: \renewcommand{\bibname}{Tài liệu} before the document.

        Thanks again. It works.
